My World
A positive space for young people to use media to communicate and collaborate across cultural, ethnic and socio-economic boundaries hosting a series of projects inspiring collaboration between young people across Europe.
Content created through a series of European collaboration projects tells the stories of young people from the UK, France, Germany, Latvia, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary and Poland.
Schools all over the world are active contributors, including young people in Cyprus, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the UAE.
The most important outcome has been the increase in awareness and understanding among the young reporters, of each others’ issues and concerns and of their own place within the world.
My World is hosted on educational social media site Radiowaves, a space for young people all over the world to share their stories.
Key achievements:
Young people training as reporters and creating films investigating a key issue from their country, which involved representatives from the European Commission and the Centre for European Reform being quizzed on issues such as “brain drain”, the negative perception of young people, parliamentary systems and the preservation of national identity across Europe.
Young reporters researching and producing video stories on their countries’ current affairs and histories, including the history of Yugoslavia, the impact of martial law on Poland and its comparisons to the current situation in Northern Africa, and the impact of recent government spending cuts on Britain’s young people.

Testimonials
I did enjoy the project due to the opportunities it brought to me when I was in London and also the ones at home. It enabled me to make new friends from foreign countries that I will never forget the good times I had editing and making videos with them.

I enjoyed being part of this project because this is how I envisage the future of European education: a network of schools that can communicate, learn about each other's lives, experiences, concerns, values and hopes.
